Today we welcome violist Ross DeBardelaben as our guest soloist for the 10 a.m. service. Ross is a native of Atlanta who began his viola studies at age ten through the Miami Dade County Public School System. He is currently near completion of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in viola performance at the University of Miami under the guidance of Pamela McConnell, with whom he first studied at age 14. He completed his undergraduate studies in viola and chamber music on a full scholarship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and played regularly with the Nashville Symphony during this time. Ross is founder and music director of Miami Virtuosi, a new performance organization committed to presenting Miami's virtuoso musicians at intimate venues.

The Dean is looking for anyone who would like to serve on the Cathedral Altar Guild. This vital ministry prepares the sanctuary for Sunday morning services and other special events. No special gifts required, except a willingness to serve as part of a team that readies our church for worshippers and loves to participate in a worthwhile activity. For more information, contact Monica Beniste in the Cathedral Office 786-888-6692.

Our summer intern, Lee Davis, is working on updating our records. When we switched to the Power Church system, all of our records did not transfer correctly from our old database. As a result, some of you who are members may receive a mailing that lists you as a visitor to the Cathedral. If this happens, don’t be alarmed, just check off the box that you are a member, get it back to the office, and you will receive a member update mailing soon. Thanks for your patience as Lee updates our system.

Scholarship Opportunity:  Applications for Trinity Cathedral’s Ethel C. Howse Scholarship Fund for the 2008-09 school year are available in the Cathedral Office.  Members of Trinity Cathedral who are full-time undergraduate college students or postulants of an Episcopal seminary are encouraged to apply.  For further information, contact Oran Grant, Scholarship Committee Chairperson, at 305-827-9754 or orand128@yahoo.com.

Do you have web design and/or programming skills? Would you like to share your gifts with Trinity? The Cathedral is looking for a new webmaster to help us maintain and update our site. For more information contact Chris Cooper, Communications Chair at texcooper@gmail.com
