OUR CHRISTIAN FORMATION MINISTRY
FIRST IN A SERIES
“Christian formation is the lifelong process of growing in our relationship with God, self, others, and all creation.” So reads a statement from the Episcopal Church’s national website. It is one thing to attend Sunday morning worship, and another thing to deepen one’s faith (or that of children) by having age appropriate learning options. In the Baptismal Covenant, we are called to “continue in the Apostles’ teaching and fellowship…” Clearly, learning about the Christian life is an endeavor that continues as we grow in the faith. How do we do this here at Trinity? There are a host of activities, ministries and programs offered to help us deepen our relationships with God and one another. Special programs are offered seasonally and here is an overview of what happens at the Cathedral each week. We hope you will avail yourself of these opportunities for education, formation and learning.
Offerings for Children
A nursery is available from 7:30 AM until 11:30 AM on the first floor of Cathedral Hall every Sunday. A licensed nursery worker is on site in our recently refurbished room at all times to provide a caring environment for infants and those up to age 3.
Sunday School is held on the second floor of Cathedral Hall after the 8 AM service, and during the 10 AM service. All children ages 4 to 11 are welcome for this hands-on, creative approach to the Gospel. During the 10 am service, children will rejoin their families during the peace.
For parents who prefer to worship with their children we will soon offer a convenient and comfortable space in All Saints’ Chapel should the little ones need a break. The Chapel is located in the rear of the Church. Thanks to the generosity of some young families, glass doors will be installed to create a soundproof space and an area for a “Children’s Service” in the future.
After Easter, we will be offering a six-week confirmation class for teens and young adults interested in being confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church.
Offerings for Adults
Following the 8 AM service, we are offering a new program called “Faith and the New York Times” – come explore with us how God is working in the world today.
Following the 10 AM service, Adult Bible Study is held in the Community Room of Cathedral Hall, led by the clergy. Each week focuses on a different theme; please join us as your schedule allows. The current session goes through November 2 and focuses on the Book of Acts.
Adult formation en Español will begin after the 12:15 pm service on Oct. 19th in the Hall.
After Easter, we will be offering a six-week confirmation class for adults interested in becoming members of the Cathedral.

NUESTRO MINISTERIO DE FORMACIÓN CRISTIANA
PRIMERA EN UNA SERIÉ
“La formación cristiana es el proceso permanente de crecer en nuestra relación con Dios, consigo mismo, con otros y toda la creación.” Así dice un comunicado del sitio web nacional de la Iglesia Episcopal. Es una cosa asistir a la adoración el domingo por la mañana, y otra cosa profundizar la fe de uno mismo (o la de los niños) con tener opciones de aprendizaje apropiadas para la edad. En el Pacto Bautismal, estamos llamados a “continuar en la enseñanza y comunión de los apóstoles ...” Es evidente que el aprendizaje acerca de la vida cristiana es un esfuerzo que continúa a medida que crecemos en la fe. ¿Cómo lo hacemos aquí en la Catedral? Hay una gran cantidad de actividades, ministerios y programas que se ofrecen para ayudar a profundizar nuestras relaciones con Dios y al prójimo. Programas especiales se ofrecen según la temporada y aquí tenemos una visión general de lo que sucede en la Catedral cada semana. Esperamos que utilicen estas oportunidades para la educación, la formación y el aprendizaje.
Programas para los Niños
Hay un vivero que está abierto desde las 7:30 A.M. hasta las 11:30 A.M., en el primer piso del Salón de la Catedral, todos los domingos. Un voluntario licenciado estará presente en nuestro recientemente renovado vivero en todo momento para crear un ambiente de cuidado para los niños de 3 años y menor.
La Escuela Dominical se reúne en el segundo piso del Salón de la Catedral después del servicio de las 8 A.M., y durante el servicio de las 10 A.M. Todos los niños de 4 a 11 años son bienvenidos para este programa con un enfoque creativo y práctico hacia el Evangelio. Durante el servicio las 10 A.M., los niños se reúnen con sus familias durante la paz.
Para los padres que prefieren quedarse con sus hijos, muy pronto ofreceremos un espacio cómodo en la Capilla de Todos los Santos si los más pequeñitos necesiten un descanso durante de la misa. La capilla se encuentra en la parte trasera de la iglesia. Gracias a la generosidad de algunas familias jóvenes, se instalará puertas de cristal para crear un espacio insonorizado para un "Servicio de los Niños" en el futuro.
Después de la Pascua, estaremos ofreciendo una clase de confirmación de seis semanas para los adolescentes y adultos jóvenes interesados en ser confirmados o ser recibidos en la Iglesia Episcopal.
Programas para los Adultos
Después el servicio de las 8 A.M., estamos ofreciendo un nuevo programa llamado "La Fe y el New York Times" - Venga a explorar con nosotros cómo Dios está trabajando en el mundo de hoy.
Tras el servicio de las 10 AM, tenemos un Estudio Bíblico para adultos en el Salón de la Catedral, dirigida por el clero. Cada semana se centra en un tema diferente; por favor, únase a nosotros como su horario lo permite. La sesión actual durara hasta el 2 de noviembre y se enfoca en el libro de los Hechos.
La formación para adultos en español comenzará después del servicio de las 12:15 el 19 de octubre en el Salón.
